Twas the month before Christmas, when all through our land,
Hardly a Christian was praying, fewer taking a stand.
PC Police seen shaking fingers at the special days,
Cleansing the reason for Christmas, no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About shepherds and wise men and angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say,
December 25th was after all just another Holiday.
Yet shoppers stood ready with cash, checks and credit,
Pushing folks down to the floor - They just didn't get it!
Instead they grabbed at Cyrus CDs, an X BOX, an I-Pod,
Something had changed the season, something quite odd!
Retailers proclaimed, Not Christmas but Ramadan and Kwanzaa,
Hawking books with far-left names such as Franken and Fonda.
Staples ignored any tree, be it upright or hanging upside down,
While Office Depot said Christmas should no where be found.
At Pet Smart, Foot Locker, and Family Dollar it appeared,
The cheer of Merry Christmas would be forbidden this year.
Instead they gave mandates, "Inclusive, Sensitive, and Di-ver-si-ty,"
Words used to intimidate us, those folks like you and me.
Now Schumer, Now Reid, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
When at the top of the Senate there arose such a clatter,
We propose to eliminate Jesus and in all public matters.
Yet citizens spoke not a word at the theft of season's faith,
Forbidden no more to share words of salvation and grace.
The true gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded,
The reason for the season stopped before it even got started.
So as you celebrate your Winter Break by a Holiday Tree,
While sipping a Starbucks, take a listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose well what you may say.
And shout Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holiday!
