Judicial Watch Sues IRS For Tea Party Scandal Records

"Judicial Watch announced today that on October 9, 2013, it filed a Freedom of Information (FOIA) lawsuit (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. Internal Revenue Service (No. 1:13-cv-01559)) against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) asking the District Court for the District of Columbia to compel the agency to produce records of all communications relating to the review process for organizations seeking 501(c)(4) non-profit status since January 1, 2010. The lawsuit also asks the court to order the IRS to provide records of communications by former IRS official Lois Lerner concerning the controversial review and approval process." - JudicialWatch

"The lawsuit comes in response to the refusal of the IRS to comply with four FOIA requests dating back to May, 2013. Specifically, Judicial Watch seeks the following records from its initial three FOIA requests, filed on May 20, 2013:

- Any and all records concerning, regarding or related to the number of applications received from organization seeking tax exempt status under 501(c)(4).

- Any and all record concerning, regarding, or related to communications between the IRS and members of the U.S. House of Representatives or the U.S. Senate regarding the review process for organizations applying for tax exempt status under 501(c)(4);

- Any and all records concerning, regarding, or related to communications between the IRS and any other government agency regarding the review process for organizations applying for tax exempt status under 501(c)(4);

- Any and all records concerning, regarding, or related to communications between the IRS and any office of the Executive Branch regarding the review process for organizations applying for tax exempt status under 501(c)(4)." . . . Read More

Judicial Watch Victory: Judge Voids Special Order 7

"Judicial Watch announced today that California Superior Court Judge Terry A. Green struck down a controversial Los Angeles Police Department policy, Special Order 7, which regulated the impounding of vehicles driven by unlicensed drivers. Judicial Watch, on behalf of a Los Angeles taxpayer, was joined in the legal challenge by the Los Angeles Police Protective League, the union that represents LAPD officers in Los Angeles Police Protective League v. City of Los Angeles, Case No. BC483052." - Judicial Watch

"The court had ruled on August 12 that the non-enforcement policy was contrary to California state law that required the impoundment of vehicles by unlicensed drivers. Today, over the objections of the City of Los Angeles and lawyers for the ACLU, Judge Green issued an order immediately enjoining Los Angeles from continuing to follow Special Order 7.

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton issued the following statement reacting to today’s ruling: 'This is a great victory for the rule of law and the taxpayers of Los Angeles. As a result of this ruling, the residents of LA are safer today.'

Judicial Watch sought to stop the use of taxpayer funds to enforce Special Order 7, which limited LAPD officers’ discretion to impound vehicles for 30 days if the vehicles are driven by unlicensed drivers." . . . Read More

Judicial Watch Files Suit On Behalf Of Kawa Orthodontics Against Treasury And IRS To Overturn Delay Of Obamacare Employer Mandate

"Florida Lawsuit Argues Mandate Delay Exceeds Obama Administration’s Statutory Authority and is Arbitrary, Capricious, Contrary to Law, and Otherwise Unlawful. Suit Seeks an Injunction Prohibiting Employer Mandate Delay." - Judicial Watch

"Judicial Watch announced today that it has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Dr. Larry Kawa of Kawa Orthodontics against the U.S. Department of Treasury, Secretary of Treasury Jack Lew, the Internal Revenue Service and IRS Acting Director Daniel Werfel challenging the Obama administration’s decision to delay the enactment of the so-called “employer mandate” provision of the Affordable Healthcare Act, also known as Obamacare (Kawa Orthodontics, LLP vs. Jack Lew, et al., (No. 9:13-cv-80990)).

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on behalf of Boca Raton based employer Kawa Orthodontics LLP, argues that the delay of the employer mandate “exceeded [the Obama administration’s] statutory authority, is arbitrary, capricious, and contrary to law, and is otherwise unlawful.”

The employer mandate, which subjects certain large employers to tax penalties if they do not offer 'affordable,' 'minimum essential' health insurance coverage to their employees, is 'one of the pillars' of Obamacare. By law, the mandate was required to take effect January 1, 2014. On July 2, 2013, however, the Obama administration officially postponed the mandate, causing Kawa Orthodontics to lose the value of its substantial efforts to prepare for the controversial provision taking effect beginning next year." . . . Judicial Watch Sues Over Fast and Furious Stonewall: Seeks Docs About DOJ’s Legal Fight Over Holder Contempt Of Congress Citation

"Judicial Watch announced today that on September 5, 2013, it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, against the Obama Department of Justice (DOJ) seeking access to all records of communications between DOJ and House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform relating to settlement discussions in the Committee’s 2012 contempt of Congress lawsuit against Attorney General Eric Holder." - Judicial Watch

"Judicial Watch filed the FOIA lawsuit as part of its continuing investigation of the Fast and Furious scandal, where the Obama administration allowed weapons to “walk” across the border into the hands of Mexican drug cartels directly resulting in the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and countless Mexican citizens. On August 13, 2012, the House Oversight Committee sued Holder to enforce subpoenas in its probe of the Fast and Furious operation. On March 18, 2013, after a breakdown of settlement talks between the Committee and DOJ, a federal judge ordered the two sides to enter into mediation.

Judicial Watch now seeks access to the following records pursuant to its original FOIA request submitted on March 20, 2013:

Any and all records of communications, correspondence, and contacts between the Department of Justice and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform concerning or relating to a settlement in Committee on Oversight and Government Reform v. Holder, 1:12-cv-01332, U.S. District Court, District of Columbia (Washington). Such records include, but are not limited to, records of the settlement discussion themselves. The timeframe for this request is October 1, 2012 to March 20, 2013." . . . Read More

Judicial Watch: Pentagon Gives Leftist Groups Prime Spots At GITMO Trials

"Judicial Watch has been extremely active monitoring terrorist military tribunals at Guantanamo Bay. Unfortunately, our regular participation may be about to change." - Judicial Watch

"As first reported by our own blogger Irene Garcia: 'In a startling about-face, the Obama administration is restricting exclusive access to Military Commission hearings in Guantanamo Bay to five leftist human rights groups that openly advocate for the terrorist defendants.'

In an official memorandum, issued on August 19, 2013, the Office of the Secretary of Defense listed the criteria by which organizations were selected for the privilege of monitoring GTMO proceedings. They must have a 'stated mission to advance human rights through advocacy and respect for the law.' Here’s the punch line.

Take a look at the list of the five pre-approved leftist 'non-governmental organizations' that will be given exclusive seats at the table for GTMO military commission proceedings: Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Human Rights First, the American Civil Liberties Union and the American Bar Association. Do you see any 'rule of law' organizations on this list? I do not." - Read More

What will America look like under a second Obama presidency? If you don't have a clue, you better find one! Check alpha by state/city where this film is playing before November 6, 2012. Unofficial bio of Gerald R. Molen. A picture is worth a thousand words! This photo was not actually aT the White House, but, regardless of WHERE it was taken, the fact is that he cancelled the National Day of Prayer, said that we are no longer a Christian nation, and has no problem taking part in Muslim prayer. U.S. President Barack Obama bows to Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio at MacDill Air Force Base on January 28, 2010, in Tampa, Florida. Iorio had honored CAIR annually in Tampa with its own day in November 2008, acknowledging the large amout of Muslims living in the area. "Ayers, now a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, claims to abhor nostalgia ("Nothing is more boring than some old person going on and on about the way things used to be"). But he has been thinking lately about the past—both his and the country's—and soon he will likely be engaged in what he calls "a dialogue" about the sixties, the antiwar movement, and the radical life he led. The spur for this dialogue will be the publication of Fugitive Days (Beacon Press, $24), a memoir Ayers has written about the trajectory of his life, from a pampered son of the Chicago suburbs to a young pacifist to a founder of one of the most radical political organizations in U.S. history."
